I enjoy painting flowers while they are still growing, because I try to capture their vitality. In this painting, I was able to sit outside on a gorgeous day and enjoy the flowers growing in my own garden. With living flowers, I like to keep the painting fresh, with bold brushstrokes and the use of line.
