Bougainvillea are among my favorite plants, and I was captivated by them growing against these very old arches on a visit to San Juan Capistrano Mission in Southern California. The gardens of the mission are such an inspiration to me because they have the feel of being very old, well-tended, and wild at the same time. An artist’s dream, really!
