I adore red geraniums! The way the petals are shaped create such wonderful areas of shadow and light… they are a dream to paint! This painting was done using the methods of the Old Masters, where a complete “grisaille” (gray scale) painting is done first, with a transparent layer of color over the top. This creates a luminous, rich painting.
